How I work with models on TFP (or TFCD)

What I will do

  • Discuss with the model what we hope to accomplish during the shoot.
  • Provide a well articulated idea of what we will do on a shoot (not that there isn't considerable room for flexibility and input from the model).
  • Allow for an opportunity to include photography that the model may need for her portfolio.
  • After a shoot, I put the images on a set of web pages that can be viewed by the model with a special link. These are unedited images. Each set we do will have its own page (a set is a collection of images from each outfit change or setting).
  • The minimum that the model will receive from the shoot is one image from each set (her/his choice) that will be completely post-processed by me. Usually one image (the best) is what a model will want for a portfolio. The "best" from each set is a productive shoot.
  • The model is welcome to any other images I finish for my purposes. I'll provide these images on a CD or in a form that can be downloaded from my web site. For each image, I'll provide a web resolution version and a high-resolution version.
  • Shoots usually last from 3 to 6 hours and can involve a number of outfit changes.
  • At the beginning of the shoot the model will be provided with a copy of the model release (the release is available from the web site). Prior to shoot, the release will be reviewed and the photographer and the model will sign the release - each party receiving a copy.
  • Note that my release is different from what is used by most photographers. I provide the model with a usage license to use the images as she/he sees fit for self-promotion or for sale.
  • I am more than happy to meet with the model and review all the images.
  • Any sets that involve nudity or have erotic content will be discussed in advance. Let's have no surprises in this area!
  • One of my goals is to see my images in magazines or other publications and I am interested in talking further with any model I work with on this aspect of self-promotion.
  • Above all, I am open-minded about what we do in a shoot and I am very interested in hearing about your wants, needs and ideas.
